Hi there, my name is Stacey Brown, I'm a reader, a writer and explorer of all things that give me increased self-knowledge (and world knowledge!). It was these three loves that led me, at the age of 39, to go back to university. Thus began my new life as a mature age student studying for a BA in Philosophy.
Philosophy not only opened my eyes to the importance of applying critical thinking to everyday situations, but it also opened my eyes to how gullible and innocent a consumer I was within the online world. I had jumped off a digital cliff in pursuit of belonging to something I thought was important.
Hindsight allowed me to apply a microscope to the decisions I had made in the past and the things I was still accepting implicitly. Only then, was I able to change it all.
'A Melancholy Spritzer' is the location of my ideal evening ritual where all my loves find the space to exist. Harmonising my exploration of modern and historical philosophical texts with a red wine spritzer, a sunset and solitude. A place I can read without distraction, think without digital influence and write without daylight's endless interruptions.
I have to warn you - I'm totally not into social media! I won't be sharing any of my articles on any social platforms, but I don't mind if you do. If you love what I write, I'd love you to share it.
